Noms for Spooky Season

Hello Spooky Beings

👻

Capitalism really popped off this season with some cute and tasty treats to bring a young Starfish in to spend. Here are the two establishments that got me this season.

Dunkin' Donuts

I'm sure Dunkin' has had a reoccurring halloween themed donut every year, but I'm just now stumbling upon them this spooky season. The two themed donuts they've had on their menu are the Spider Donut, and the Dunk-o-Lantern donuts. The spider donut usually has visible eyes, from the picture. I've yet to receive one with visible eyeballs lol. The munchkin on top [for the spider's body] is chocolate, while the rest of the flavor gives that of a regularly iced donut. As for the Dunk-o-Lantern... if you ever find yourself craving something sweet, ONE would set you just right. The donut itself was deliciously fluffy. The icing on top felt like just enough to complement the fluffy dough. Filled within was a cream that gave marshmallow bliss. The fact that it actually looks like a cute little Jack-o-Lantern makes it that much better.

Here is a little -honorable mention- donut that Dunkin' added in lieu of the Dunk-o-Lantern ordered that day. It's trying its best to be in the festive spooky spirit with its coloring, but the flavor was a basic iced donut. The sprinkles gave it a little crunch, for some added texture. Other than that, neither this or the Spider Donuts are all that exciting. My vote goes fully for the Dunk-o-Lantern 😆 !

Burger King

Ghost Pepper Whopper from Burger King. They even made the bun festive by making it a wee bit orange with black sesame seeds. All you really had to say was Ghost Pepper, and you know I'm down! Spicy queso cheese sauce, crispy jalapeños, and ghost pepper cheese. The fact that I could see those deliciously lil crispy jalapeños in the picture only made my mouth salivate more 🤤! First bite, my mouth was filled with "good flavor". Though I can take a lot of spiciness when it comes to food things, the amount of ghost pepper and spicy ingredients used made for the perfect amount of heat for someone like me. It's as if they actually want you to enjoy the burger, when others seem to only pay attention to ridiculous heat levels. 8.5/10, would eat again!

It seems as though there weren't too many other restaurants doing themed foods this year. Of course, Krispy Kreme has their own versions of festive donuts, and Tiff's Treats had a boo box. That's about all I could really find, though. Have you stumbled on, or tried any other sweet treats this spooky season? Don't hesitate to leave recommendations below!

✨ Thank you for reading ✨
